8 Immersive Experiences for an Alternative Activity or Night Out in Buenos Aires
Veer away from the norm and discover something new and avant-garde in the city.
If you’ve been here a while, you’ve likely had enough parrilla, tango, and fútbol experiences to fill a lifetime. And even if you’ve just landed, you might prefer to skip straight past the obvious anyway. Either way, it’s time to explore Buenos Aires from a different side. Like many big cities around the world, BA is slowly redefining what it means to “go out,” with activities blending cutting-edge technology alongside art, food, music, and more. From blind theater performances to multisensory culinary adventures, here are eight ways to get a fresh perspective on how to feel, not just see, the city.
1. Teatro Ciego
The first of its kind in Argentina, Teatro Ciego (Blind Theatre) invites you to step into complete darkness and allow your other senses to take over. A rotating agenda of events, from 360° audio-only sessions to narrative-driven plays, brings sound, scent, taste, and touch to center stage. There’s a 7-course blind gourmet dinner-show, chakra and meditation nights, and even child-friendly productions guided through audio clues. Inclusive for all, it’s a boundary-pushing night out guaranteed to recalibrate the senses.

Created by music obsessives, Blind Music BA keeps things simple: iconic albums played from start to finish with no song skipping and no distractions. The studio boasts a high-fidelity sound system engineered to capture every note and detail with precision. Think of it as a return to the romance of hearing a record played as it was made to be. There are typically two events per night running the gauntlet from 70s global rock legends to Argentine folk and Latin trap. So whether you’re into Pink Floyd, Bad Bunny, or Lady Gaga, you should find something up your street.
Location: San Martin 510, San Nicolás
Price: $9,500
You don’t always need screens, darkness, and technology to create an immersive event. Candlelight Concerts swaps arena and stadium theatrics for something softer yet equally rewarding. Held at a collection of historic theaters, musicians – typically pianists and violinists – perform hour-long recitals surrounded by hundreds of flickering candles (often real, but sometimes LED alternatives). The result is a cosy, intimate and transportive concert that brings both music and atmosphere to the fore. Shows range from interpretations of Vivaldi to modern-day artists such as Adele, Imagine Dragons, and Taylor Swift.
Locations: Centro Asturiano de Buenos Aires, Solis 475, Monserrat; Teatro Margarita Xirgu, Chacabuco 875, San Telmo; and Capilla Del Colegio De La Salle, Riobamba 650, Recoleta
Price: $28.500 - 74.500 (varies by venue)
Jota is one of Argentina and Latin America’s standout modern illusionists, revered for his no-smoke-and-mirrors magic played out inches from the eyes of baffled audience members. His show, La Lojia, takes place at a hidden townhouse in Villa Crespo; the exact location is revealed only after a booking confirmation. Here, guests get a front-row, theatre-in-the-round-style descent into seemingly impossible moments. He plays with perception, psychology, and sleight of hand, all often sprinkled with comedy. It’s a night for believers, sceptics, and everyone in between. You must just see water turned into wine.

Next to Normal Immersive is the first Broadway title reimagined as a fully immersive show. The bespoke 60-minute script by original creators Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt was designed for a space where the cast and audience share the same room. There’s no traditional stage, just projections across floors and walls, surround sound, and a front row view of the story. It’s performed in English with Spanish subtitles, and has Broadway stars Alice Ripley (American Psycho: The Musical) and Adam Pascal (Rent) appearing virtually, alongside rising Argentine talent.
Location: Centro Audiovisual Inmersivo, Av. Jorge Newbery 3039, Colegiales
Price: $45,000
